The theme of Ramadan Festival 2025 is Connection.
The word ‘Connection’ is profound and multi-faceted – it is a force that unites people across cultures, environments and backgrounds, fostering community, empathy and understanding that offers a shared sense of community.
Connection and Ramadan Tent Project
Through our mission of ‘Bringing Communities Together’ – Ramadan Tent Project believes that true connection – whether rooted in shared experiences, values or faith; mutual respect can build bridges of solidarity and foster a compassionate world where all can coexist in harmony.
There is power in unity; with intricate, intertwined threads of connection we can truly come together.
Connection in Islam
In Islam, the concept of connection extends beyond faith alone and encompasses our relationship with all of humanity – encouraging bonds of kindness, understanding, and compassion to all human beings from every background.
As an Ummah (global community), we have a duty to build relations outside of our faith, as emphasized in the verse from Surah Al Hujurat- which reminds us to understand, recognise and respect the diversity in our nations, races and tribes:
“People, We created you all from a single man and a single woman, and made you into races and tribes so that you should recognize one another. In God’s eyes, the most honoured of you are the ones most mindful of Him: God is all knowing, all aware.” [Surah Al Hujurat, Verse 13]
Islam recognises that meaningful connection is not only about spiritual bonds with God (a line of connection we cannot physically see, but one we trust is always present through our faith), but also about building respectful relations with our neighbours to contribute to a harmonious society.
Connection and Ramadan
Ramadan holds a profound significance worldwide as it is a time of deep spiritual reflection, introspection, self-discipline and empathy. Ramadan is the holiest month in the Islamic calendar as it commemorates the revelation of the first verses of the Holy Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad.
The relationship with the Holy Qur’an is a direct connection between the Creator and the worshipper, a divine discourse manifested in the symbolic and practical act of submission to God’s will through fasting and immersive worship and obedience to God.
During the month of Ramadan, the bond and connection between the individual, the Creator and all living things is strengthened significantly. It is a time for Muslims to excel in their faith, practice empathy and strive for spiritual growth whilst achieving a state of mindfulness.
More than a religious observance, Ramadan is a month that nurtures empathy to one another and unites us in celebrating community, diversity and shared human values.
As people around the world prepare to embark on this sacred journey, they are reminded of the importance of connecting with others – transcending borders and cultural distinctions, weaving a tapestry of compassion that spans far and wide.
We will be expanding our vibrant Ramadan campaigns nationwide to elevate Ramadan Festival to the next level to touch more lives, connect more hearts and unite more souls – through creating harmonious spaces that promote mutual understanding.
We look forward to welcoming you with open arms to our events and to share the spirit of connection.
